Noncomedogenic is a term applied to oils, lotions, and skin creams that do not block pores. Noncomedogenic products are also sometimes referred to as non-occlusive. The theory behind using these products is that if you have sensitive skin, by not blocking pores, you can reduce the incidence of blemishes, rashes and acne. While this does not mean they do not contain ingredients to which the user can prove allergic, there is a good chance that they are easier on the complexion. Some of these products contain sunscreens, so it can be valuable for sensitive-skinned types to use them. If your skin is really sensitive, regular use of a suncreen is, in fact, recommended.
