Redcurrants have the same healing powers as blackcurrants. With their high vitamin C content, the colourful fruits strengthen the immune system, especially when suffering from a cold. The redcurrant is a close relative of the blackcurrant and a popular garden plant. It can be found almost all over Europe. However, it is only rarely found in its wild form in damp forest soils. The translucent red fruits have a tart, refreshing taste and can be eaten raw, used for desserts and cakes or made into juice, jellies or jams.
To obtain the pure natural redcurrant juice required to produce Grether’s Pastilles Redcurrant, only ripe fruits are harvested. The exquisite quality of the berries ensures an incomparably delicious, long-lasting flavour.
