The Iris perfume from the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella is a bouquet of earthy floral notes. Of Asian origin, "Shu-tu-wu", "come from heaven", this is the name given to the iris in some very ancient sacred books kept in a monastery in Tibet. The iris grows spontaneously on the hills of Tuscany and for this reason it was adopted as a symbol of the city of Florence. In mythology, Iris was the messenger of the gods who brought good news through the rainbow. In the language of flowers, it symbolizes "Majestic Beauty."
